33 Rollout switch (MRLC) open
What the control is telling you
A manual-reset limit (flame roll-out switch) has opened - flame rolled out of the burner area. Must be reset by hand. RGPE/RGLE: can indicate a blocked exhaust flue; thermostat shows Call For Service.
Applies to: 802P/80MDP (802PA050-150); R95P (R95PA040-115); RGPE/RGLE 2-stage 80+
Likely causes
- Blocked flue or vent
- Blocked or cracked heat exchanger
- Overfiring / wrong orifice or high gas pressure
- Combustion air problem / combustion restriction
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Do not jumper the roll-out switch. Find and fix the cause before resetting - fire and CO risk.
- Inspect vent/flue and heat exchanger for blockage.
- Check gas pressure and orifice size.
- Check combustion air supply; 802P: test with closet door closed if installed in a closet.
- Check the burner compartment for signs of rollout and wiring between IFC and the switch.
- Reset only after the cause is corrected, then watch a full heat cycle.
