E200 Flame rollout - hard lockout
What the control is telling you
The rollout switch circuit is open or was previously open; furnace is in hard lockout.
Applies to: EL296UHV(X) series furnaces (integrated control 103130-XX and 107045-XX)
Likely causes
- Blocked heat exchanger
- Blocked flue/vent
- Lack of combustion air
- Failed rollout switch
Test and repair steps
- Warning: A rollout trip means flame came out of the burner box; find the cause before resetting.
- Inspect the heat exchanger, vent and combustion air piping for blockage.
- Check burner alignment and burner box cover in place.
- Check burner faces and crossovers for blockage and clean (soft brush vacuum) if needed.
- After reset, a hard lockout requires a thermostat reset or power cycle.
- Rollout switches (S47) are on top of the burner box, one each side; they open at 210°F.
- Once the cause is fixed, press the manual reset on the switch, or replace it if it will not reset.
- Test furnace operation through a full heat cycle.
