LED OFF No amber LED - no power to control
What the control is telling you
The status LED is dark, meaning the control is not getting 115 V or 24 V, or the control itself has failed.
Applies to: 59TP6A two-stage variable-speed ECM multipoise condensing gas furnace, all sizes (040-10 to 120-22)
Likely causes
- Open circuit breaker or broken supply wiring
- Blower door switch open or faulty
- Failed transformer
- Failed furnace control
Test and repair steps
- Warning: Shut off 115-V power and gas, and lock/tag out before working inside the furnace; there may be more than one power source.
- Check that the circuit breaker is closed and there is continuity in the wire from breaker to furnace.
- Confirm the blower door is on and the door switch is closed; check for 115 V reaching the door switch. Replace the door switch if 115 V arrives but does not pass through.
- Check for 115 V at L1 and L2 on the control.
- Check for 24 V at SEC-1 and SEC-2; if 115 V is present but no 24 V, replace the transformer.
- If 115 V and 24 V are both present but the LED stays off, replace the furnace control.
